Wahaca Open Their First Scottish Restaurant

Acting on behalf of Standard Life Investments we are delighted to announce we have let 16 South St Andrew Street to Wahaca, the Mexican restaurant founded by Masterchef winner Thomasina Miers.

The premises extend to approximately 5,000 sq ft over ground and mezzanine floors and were previously occupied by Barclays Bank.  Wahaca have agreed a new long lease and will be one of several new restaurants opening in this location over the coming months.  Other new occupiers include Carluccio, Dishoom, Drake and Morgan and STK.

Wahaca opened their first restaurant in August 2007 serving Mexican street food and now have 24 restaurants in the UK.

James Godfrey commented, 'It's really exciting that Wahaca have chosen Edinburgh to open their first Scottish restaurant.  With St Andrew Square set to become the new leisure quarter in the city I am certain this restaurant will be highly successful'.
